Mornington Shaker Copse Green
The Brief
The client is a small builder based in Redbourne, Hertfordshire who I have worked with on various customers’ projects in the area, so it was lovely to work with him and his wife on his own project. The room itself was not straightforward as the right side of the property veered off at a 45 degree angle. Planning the kitchen cabinetry to fit nicely into the angles was the biggest hurdle. The client immediately fell in love with Alchemy Range' Copse Green Mornington Shaker which is on display in our Hertfordshire kitchen showroom in Cheshunt. They recreated the look of our display down to the same Antique Bronze Effect handles and digitally printed glass splashbacks. As a personal touch, another image printed splashback of treasured family snaps was fitted behind the sink area. Designer Tips
A major concern for the client was the impact of the bold Copse Green furniture in the open space , this is a family house and needed to feel warm and welcoming. Introducing marbled white quartz worktops (which also cladded the sides of the island), immediately gave the kitchen a brighter feel. Power sockets were installed in a matching finish to the handles for continuity. To compliment a gorgeous pendant feature light above the island, plinth lighting was added to the base cabinetry. The back of the island units offered additional storage for items that need a home but are not regularly required. Kitchens are personal choices, so adding favourite images of the family in a place they will be seen is a lovely touch that anyone can add to their own kitchen design.
