Pendle Oak & Cream Shaker
The Brief
Our client had waited excitedly to revamp their original kitchen. Their property was in Enfield, North London and the owners wanted to modernise the look of their kitchen, but not to the extent that it was too modern and not in keeping with the contemporary home they had. Oak shaker and Cream units were chosen from the Eco Kitchen Collection from our kitchen showroom in Cheshunt, Hertfordshire. A tall bank of units flowing into a low level run created an enveloping sweep of oak cabinets the encloses the cream island where a Quooker tap and undermounted sink are situated. Neff appliances were selected as the choice for cooking as their patented circotherm cooking gives the ideal even cook to whatever is in the oven.
Needless to say the client was overjoyed with the end result which struck the right balance between modern and traditional.
Designer Tips
After visiting the customer’s house in Enfield, North London, it was clear that a contemporary kitchen would suit the property and the customers' tastes. Eco Pendle Oak and Cream units were combined in a subtle two-tone finish.Oak is such a warm inviting wood to work with that complimentary tones need to be selected to work with this lustrous woodgrain. Bronze mirror picked up the golden hues from the wood, but also added reflectancy and a feeling of open space.
The island was designed so that the person involves in cooking was enclosed by a welcoming enclave in which to work. Visitors sitting up at the breakfast bar/ island were out of the cook's area, but could interact and converse and very much connected to the space.
Most people do not realise that so many options are available when selected quartz details. A sunken drainer is a great way of adding a functional feature to the stone. All too often drainer grooves are automatically opted for without exploring alternatives. A sunken drainer can really showcase your selected stone.
